Trevon Diggs – CB (Alabama)

The Minnesota Vikings had to already be familiar with Trevon Diggs. He’s Stefon Diggs‘ little brother and surely has spent some time at the Vikings facilities during the offseason and maybe even ventured into the locker room from time to time during the regular season. Either way, they met with him formally at the Combine and he’s a guy they could take with the 25th overall pick.

Diggs has great size, and the speed to go with it. He’s a former wide receiver who has been playing cornerback for the last few seasons. He can stick to his man like duct tape and has good footwork and quick hips. His lack of production is a bit concerning, but as a former wide receiver, he’ll understand what the man he’s covering is trying to do and he might be less susceptible to head fakes and not bite on double moves.

Diggs can also be a viable return option for the Vikings, using that explosive speed to put the team in good field position. He didn’t fully compete at the Combine as he recovers from a foot injury, so maybe the Vikings wanted to bring him in and get a closer look at how that is progressing. Diggs has a good chance of ending up in Purple, and the Vikings meeting with him to further their evaluation makes a ton of sense.
