Kristian Fulton – CB (LSU)
The Vikings meeting with Kristian Fulton at the Combine makes a ton of sense. He’s often mocked right around where the Vikings pick and he plays their biggest position of need. Getting to know this kid personally is a smart move. The Vikings need to know if he fits in with them schematically and if he’s a good fit for their locker room.
Fulton’s talent can’t be denied. This guy is 6’0 and a put-together 200 pounds. He ran a 4.46 forty at the Combine and excels in press-man coverage. He would get on the field early in his career with the Vikings. The biggest issue with this kid was his overall character and that’s why the Vikings wanted to get him face-to-face in a sit-down.
Fulton was suspended two years by the NCAA back in 2017 for falsifying a drug test. He had someone else provide the urine, as he later admitted that two days before the test, he had smoked marijuana. The NCAA reviewed his case and ultimately cut the suspension to one year. That shows a major lack of maturity on his part and the Vikings surely wanted to find out if he’s matured since this incident. If he hasn’t there’s no way they’ll invest the 25th overall pick in him.
