Kyle Dugger – S (Lenoir-Rhyne)

This small schooler from somewhere called Lenoir-Rhyne has made quite the name for himself this draft season. He turned heads at the Senior Bowl with his coverage ability. He has a quick backpedal and can turn on a dime and has the jets to stay stride to stride with the man he’s tasked to cover.

Dugger was one of the more impressive prospects in Mobile and fit right in with the more lauded prospects from bigger schools. Dugger has a 6’1, 217-pound frame and moves extremely well. He ran a sub 4.5 forty yard dash the Combine with a 42″ vertical and 134″ broad jump. He’s an explosive athlete.

With their need at safety, it’s not shocking to see that the Minnesota Vikings held a formal meeting with this kid. Anthony Harris is probably not coming back and if the team signs Andrew Sendejo to be the starter, they are going to need a young buck waiting in the wings. That would be a perfect scenario for Dugger. He could be worked in slowly as he acclimates to the speed of the NFL game and then takes over for Sendejo after the first quarter of the season. Dugger also has experience as a punt and kick returner and could fill that role with the Vikings during his rookie season.
