2020’s wide receiver prospects

If there was ever a time to trade a receiver like Stefon Diggs and find his potential replacement in the NFL Draft, this is the year.

There are a handful of receivers who have the potential to come off the board in the first round this year. Even the guys who are still left in the second and third rounds are expected to be full of talent as well.

With the extra first-round selection acquired in the Diggs deal, the Vikings can use one of their top two choices on a new pass-catcher or they could even use one of the picks to trade up and get the guy they want.

Former Oklahoma receiver CeeDee Lamb will probably be one of the first to be drafted this year. But after him, Minnesota could potentially land any other receiver left on the board. This includes guys like Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, Laviska Shenault Jr., Jalen Reagor, and Justin Jefferson.

Even if the Vikings decide to wait until the second round to add a receiver, they should still be able to choose from a group of prospects that includes Denzel Mims, Tee Higgins, Brandon Aiyuk, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Tyler Johnson.

If not for the potential of this year’s receiving prospects in the draft, Minnesota might not have agreed to a deal for Diggs.
