The Minnesota Vikings are on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Everson Griffen after the veteran announced he is not returning to the franchise.

Pro Bowl defensive end Everson Griffen’s time with the Minnesota Vikings has come to an end. The 10-year veteran posted an emotional goodbye to the organization after removing himself from contract talks.

This represents a significant blow for the Vikings. They were hoping he would agree to a new deal after opting out earlier this offseason. Sadly, an agreement was not reached and Griffen has decided to move on.

Griffen achieved legendary status with Minnesota after coming back from a serious mental health battle to re-establish himself as a locker room leader. His presence will be sorely missed within the franchise.

With little financial means to make a big splash in free agency, the Vikings will likely need to find his replacement in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Stefon Diggs trade has given Minnesota no fewer than 12 selections next month and they must make each one count to beef up the roster and keep them competitive in 2020.

Outside of Chase Young, there aren’t many prospects worthy of a first-round pick at the defensive end position. But there are plenty of intriguing prospects who could make an instant impression later down the board.

The Vikings struck gold with Griffen when they took him in the fourth round out of USC back in 2010. Who are seven pass-rushing prospects that could be on Minnesota’s radar next month during the draft?
