Terrell Lewis (Alabama)
There will be plenty of red flags surrounding Terrell Lewis due to his chequered injury history. That being said, he has a huge upside when healthy and he should be considered by the Vikings this year.
Lewis represents a player that can fit into any defensive scheme. He came through the ranks at Alabama and he made a good impression during the times when he saw a prolonged period of action.
An elbow injury in 2017 was followed by an ACL tear the following year forced Lewis to go back to college for his senior season during a disappointing campaign, overall, for the Crimson Tide.
Whether this has impacted Lewis’ draft stock remains to be seen. Teams will be wary of taking the pass-rusher with a high pick due to his inability to stay healthy. This could work in Minnesota’s favor if he falls into their lap in the second or third round.
Lewis has an incredible first step that is very hard to handle. This is matched by good length and power that has eye-catching potential with more experience under his belt. He probably would have been in first-round consideration prior to his knee injury and any team that drafts him might be getting a steal.
There were encouraging signs during his final college season for Lewis, who secured six sacks, two pass deflections, and 31 combined tackles. Much will depend on the medical reports as to whether or not he will become a viable option for the Vikings this year.
