Kevin Williams (New Orleans Saints)

Kevin Williams‘ career with the Vikings got off to a crazy start. He was the Vikings pick in the 2003 Draft when they failed to get the card in on time. It caused mass hysteria and suddenly teams began to jump ahead of the Vikings and made their pick. Williams was supposed to go at pick seven, but ultimately was chosen at nine. While it wasn’t the smoothest selection in team history, choosing Kevin Williams turned out to be a very good move.

Williams was a beast for the Vikings. He was a force against the run and the pass and was able to create pressure up the middle, collapsing pockets, and forcing quarterbacks to get the ball out of their hands a lot sooner than they wanted to. Williams played for the Vikings from 2003-2013. In that ten-year stretch, his stats are pretty impressive. He started 171 games with 463 tackles and 60 sacks. When he had Pat Williams next to him they were almost impossible to run the football against.

The Vikings didn’t resign Williams after the 2014 season. He then played one year with the Seattle Seahawks before finishing his career with the New Orleans Saints. While it was tough seeing one of the all-time Purple greats wear the colors of the hated Saints, fans will always be thankful for all the seasons of dominating defensive play he gave them.
