5 best prospects who could be available for the Vikings at pick No. 22
By Nik Edlund

Yetur Gross-Matos – DE
With Danielle Hunter on one side and the emerging Ifeadi Odenigbo on the other, defensive end doesn’t jump out as one of the biggest needs for the Vikings this season. If this lanky pass rusher from Penn State is on the board when Minnesota is on the clock in the first round though, he’d be the best player available.
Yetur Gross-Matos is a dominating presence on the edge. He’s got an explosive first step and he uses his long arms to create space between himself and the poor soul tasked with trying to block him.
Gross-Matos’ production at Penn State was extremely impressive. He had 64 career tackles with 18.5 career sacks, and 36.5 tackles for a loss. He’s just as good at defending the run as he is at rushing the passer.
As impressive as he is, he still has a lot to learn. He doesn’t have a deep arsenal of passing rushing moves, but all the god-given tools are there to hone.
Vikings defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator, Andre Patterson, would love to get his hands on this kid and mold him into one of the elite pass rushers in the league. That is how high this kid’s potential is.
Defensive end isn’t a primary need for Minnesota, but if this guy is still there at pick No. 22, he’d be the best on the board with one of the highest ceilings of any prospect available.
