Former Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims is one of the best players in the 2020 NFL Draft, but will he end up with the Minnesota Vikings?
There has been plenty of buzz surrounding former Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims heading into the 2020 NFL Draft and he could be a prospect who lands with the Minnesota Vikings.
The talented prospect enjoyed an exceptional college career and has built up his profile considerably during the evaluation process. This has leaped Mims into first-round contention.
ESPN’s draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. has projected Mims to the Vikings at No.22 next month. This makes a tremendous amount of sense after the organization traded Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs for three picks in 2020 and a fourth-round selection in 2021.
While the locker room harmony in Minnesota will probably be better for Diggs’ departure, it has left a gaping hole in the offense. With little money available on the Vikings’ salary cap they are expected to use one of their high-end picks as a possible replacement.
This is widely regarded as the best wide receiver class entering the NFL for many years. It is loaded from top to bottom and Kiper Jr. has slotted no fewer than seven into the first round in his latest mock.
Mims is one of the most intriguing prospects coming out of college and will bring a tremendous amount to any NFL team that is fortunate to draft him. The Minnesota Vikings are also in desperate need of depth at the position, which should put the player in their thoughts.
