Mims’ strengths

There is little doubt that Denzel Mims is going to bring a lot to the NFL. With a little more refinement in certain areas the team that drafts him is going to have a significant addition.

Mims size makes his catch radius a standout feature of his game. He is especially adept at catching the ball at its highest point and has the presence of mind to make bad throws look good.

He also brings the ball in well under pressure and has emerged as a prolific red zone target. Mims possesses next-level strength and can beat out opposing cornerbacks in 50/50 situations.

The player is a real matchup problem on the outside. He uses his physicality very well and is consistently getting his big frame in front of corners to make the plays required.

Mims might not be the most accomplished route runner that has ever entered the draft. But this is something that can easily be coached up and his versatility catching the ball in different areas of the body more than makes up for this.

That will need to change against better players in the NFL, but Mims is incredibly tough and has an elite elevation that sets him apart from the majority of players at the position. His ceiling is incredibly high and the player has everything scouts are looking for when they are considering beefing up their wide receiving corps.
