Collin Johnson (Texas)

Former Texas standout Collin Johnson has all the physical tools you look for in an NFL wide receiver. He possesses excellent length that aids him considerably, allowing him to grab the ball from places some cornerbacks cannot reach.

Johnson has decent speed and is a good route runner. With a little coaching up, the player could be a steal in the mid-rounds of this year’s NFL Draft.

The receiver came onto the scene at the Longhorns in 2016, recording 28 receptions for 315 yards and three touchdowns. He followed this up with a sophomore season that saw a huge leap in production.

This included 54 catches for 765 yards and two scores. Johnson’s junior year at Texas was the best of his college career, finding the end zone seven times and attaining 985 yards from 68 receptions.

Although Johnson had a down year by his lofty standards in 2019, there is still a lot to like about the player. He is very competitive and has the potential to be a real red-zone threat for any NFL team that drafts him.

There is even the scope for Johnson to move to tight end given his frame, which might also work for the Minnesota Vikings in the coming years if they eventually decide to part ways with veteran Kyle Rudolph.

If Johnson can improve his ability to get separation when facing man coverage, then he is going to have a successful career at the next level.
