Van Jefferson (Florida)

Van Jefferson is an exceptional route runner that has the skill-set to thrive in the NFL. The former Florida player is very accomplished in many areas of play despite not coming with the athletic tools many others at the position this year boasts.

Jefferson has the benefit of tremendously quick feet, which play a leading role in him being able to create and maintain separation against opposing cornerbacks. He also has good hands and a flawless technique catching the ball.

These are all traits that NFL scouts look for when choosing their receiver of the future. Although Jefferson will be 24 by the time he takes his first catch in the pros, a mid-round flyer on a player with a lot to offer is well worth considering for the Minnesota Vikings.

They are in desperate help at wide receiver and may look for a steal later on with other pressing priorities elsewhere. What Jefferson can give them is a dependable target who is adept at making most of his assets in short or intermediate routes.

His slight frame means durability is a concern. Jefferson ended his college career with 49 receptions for 657 yards and six touchdowns in 2019. In four seasons with the Gators, Jefferson accumulated 175 catches, 2,159 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns.

Given his age, Jefferson might have already reached his potential. But this should not put needy teams off from acquiring his services.
