Emmanuel Sanders – WR

After trading Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills, the Vikings created an immediate need at wide receiver. Minnesota still has Adam Thielen on their roster, but after him on the depth chart is where things begin to get pretty dicey with Diggs no longer in the picture.

Someone like Emmanuel Sanders would have been a great addition to come in and make up for some of the production the Vikings lost when Diggs went out the door. Sanders has worked with Minnesota offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak in the past and he’s very familiar with a lot of the schemes and concepts used in the team’s offense.

But instead of joining the Vikings, Sanders opted to sign a two-year, $16 million deal with the New Orleans Saints. That’s a fairly affordable contract and one that Minnesota probably could have offered the veteran receiver.

Instead, Sanders is now with the Saints and the Vikings big free-agent addition to their wide receiver room is Tajae Sharpe, who spent the last four seasons with the Tennessee Titans. Nothing against Sharpe, but Sanders would have likely been a better addition to Minnesota’s 2020 roster.
