Sixth Round (Pick No. 208)
Lavert Hill – CB (Michigan)
The Vikings need more than just one corner out of this draft class. They took one with their second pick of the first round and they take another one here.
Lavert Hill was arguably Michigan’s best corner last season and he showed a lot of potential to be a very solid corner in the NFL. He’s very good in press-man coverage and he has very good footwork at the line of scrimmage with the ability to flip his hips to turn and run with his receiver.
He plays very well in his bail technique and he has good speed to help him match the pace of the receiver. He’s aggressive and can play physical with the receiver without giving up leverage.
He’s strong in his mirror technique with the ability to click and close quickly on the ball. Mike Zimmer is going to like the length he has and the physicality he plays with.
