Seventh Round (Pick No. 220)
Jauan Jennings – WR (Tennessee)
With skipping on wide receiver early in the draft, the Vikings select their second wide receiver at the back-half of the draft. Jauan Jennings was a solid receiver at Tennessee.
He’s extremely physical and he will beat you up all game if you’re a corner. He’s very strong and he will get inside the frame of the corner to create separation. He has no problem making a catch with the defender draped all over him.
He has really strong hands with a solid vertical to make him very tough in contested catch situations. When he has the ball in his hands, he’s like a running back and he is very tough to bring down.
He also brings his physical game to his blocking abilities. He’s a very strong blocker on the perimeter and he can lock down his corner nicely.
The Vikings need to add a physical red-zone type of receiver this year. Jennings is another one of those guys who gives Cousins the ability to throw a ball up in the end-zone with the likelihood of coming down with it.
