Seventh Round (Pick No. 250)
Oluwole Betiku Jr. – EDGE (Illinois)
The Vikings have created a major need at the defensive end position this offseason. With them filling a huge hole with their first pick in the draft, it’s necessary for them to fill some depth pieces there as well.
Oluwole Betiku Jr. brings that to the Vikings. He has tremendous size and he will benefit from the defensive coaches in Minnesota. He’s fairly new to football, playing just six total years in his lifetime.
He’s extremely raw, but he has all of the physical tools to work with. He has some decent pass rush moves and can execute just about any of them well, but needs to find one to perfect.
He’s a rangy type of edge player with good mobility and the ability to wrap up and make good tackles on the run. He’s a tough player that shows a lot of hustle with a very high motor. He should be a guy that works hard to become a key piece on a defense.
