Robert Hunt (Louisiana)

Measurements:

  • Height: 6-foot-5 | Weight: 322 pounds

One of the top names on the Vikings’ free agency wish list this year was Washington Redskins guard Brandon Scherff. Although the Redskins locked up Scherff with a franchise tag, Minnesota can get a player that Pro Football Focus actually compared to the former Iowa guard in Robert Hunt.

Hunt played the majority of his collegiate career at right tackle, but he has the ability to move inside to guard and dominate at the next level.

While his competition wasn’t top shelf while playing for the Ragin’ Cajuns, one of his best games of the year came against Mississippi State where he showed good power and the ability to easily move defenders out of the way.

In addition to his talent, Hunt improved with each season at Louisiana. After allowing 14 pressures in his freshman year, Hunt cut that number in half in his sophomore season before allowing just one in 2019.

While his junior season was cut short due to injury, Hunt showed enough to be a solid Day 2 or 3 selection in this year’s draft and despite his advanced age (He’ll turn 24 in August), he should compete for a starting job wherever he lands.
