Current Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue has expressed his desire to be traded and the Minnesota Vikings should be looking into a deal for him.

Heading into this year’s NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings currently have 12 selections. There’s a chance the Vikings could keep all of these picks and add a bunch of young prospects to their 2020 roster. But they could also use some of these selections to trade for a current player in the NFL who might be on the market.

Despite getting the franchise tag earlier this offseason, current Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue has continuously emphasized that his time with the franchise is over and they need to send him elsewhere.

This past Tuesday, Ngakoue appeared on ESPN and said, “it’s time to move on to the next chapter of my career.” During his appearance, the talented young pass rusher also expressed his desire to end up on a team with, “great culture and (where) winning is a habit.”

Judging by the number of players who have taken less money just to remain in Minnesota during the last few years, one could assume Mike Zimmer has built the type of culture Ngakoue is looking for in his next home. Winning has also become a habit for the Vikings under Zimmer as they haven’t finished a season with a losing record since 2014.

In addition to their current need for a new starting defensive end, there are multiple reasons why Minnesota should be attempting to land Ngakoue in a trade this year.
