Quintez Cephus was another draft crush for a lot of experts. But after this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, that slowly slipped away.
Running a 4.73-second time in the 40-yard-dash is surely going to drop someone’s draft stock. Unfortunately, that’s what happened to Cephus.
He could end up being the steal of the draft towards the middle of Day 3. He’s a physical receiver with some of the surest hands in this class. He brings a strong contested catch game to a receiver room and he will outmuscle defenders for the ball more often than not.
Cephus brings a Dez Bryant type of ceiling and a Geronimo Allison type of floor to the NFL. While he’s not going to be the clear cut No. 1 receiver for the Vikings, he could be a solid depth piece that they can play in certain packages. He’s also another big body that would give Kirk Cousins another big target to throw to in the red zone.
