Vikings have the ammo to get him

In the original report from Marc Malusis, he stated the trade discussions between the Vikings and Browns involved Minnesota sending a second and a fifth-round draft pick from next year to acquire Odell Beckham Jr. from Cleveland.

That would be a great trade for the Vikings considering they wouldn’t have to give up any of their 2020 draft picks. But it’s also compensation that doesn’t really seem like something the Browns would be willing to accept in order to give up the top receiver on their roster.

Still, Minnesota has plenty of draft picks from this year and even some current players that they could include in a potential trade package for Beckham.

The Vikings currently have 12 selections in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft, including two in the first round and two in the third round. In order to let go of Beckham, most would assume Cleveland is going to want to receive one of Minnesota’s two first-round picks in return.

If the Vikings have to give up one of their two first-round selections to acquire one of the best receivers in the NFL, that should be an easy decision to make.

The Browns might also want Minnesota to include a player in a potential deal for Beckham. Maybe adding someone like Anthony Harris or Riley Reiff in addition to an early-round draft pick or two would be enough to convince the Browns to trade their star receiver to the Vikings.
