Jeff Gladney – CB (TCU)

Measurements:

  • Height: 5-foot-10 | Weight: 191 pounds

2019 Stats:

  • 31 tackles
  • 14 pass breakups
  • 1 interception

Jeff Gladney has been a popular pick to the Vikings in the first round of mock drafts. Gladney does not fit the typical size that Minnesota looks for in cornerbacks, but neither did Mike Hughes when he was selected in 2018. What he does fit, however, is the physical and aggressive nature of an NFL cornerback.

Despite playing with a small frame, Gladney is one of the toughest cornerbacks in the entire 2020 draft class.

He finished his career at TCU with five interceptions, 37 pass breakups, and 146 tackles. Gladney has long speed and he does a great job of limiting yardage after the catch on the rare occasion he gets beat.

Teams will love his ability to recognize routes and make timely jumps into the passing lane. With 26 pass breakups over the last two seasons, it is no secret that Gladney knows how to play the ball in the air.

Gladney is a player to consider when the Vikings are on the clock in the first round if he makes it to pick No. 22.
