The Minnesota Vikings have plenty of talent at defensive end heading into the draft, but recent departures will have them searching for depth.

Throughout their history, the Minnesota Vikings have been blessed with defensive ends that know how to get to the quarterback. More recently, it seems that when one player leaves, another one is ready to take their place.

With Everson Griffen set to sign somewhere else, the Vikings will lean on Danielle Hunter to be the locker room leader while Ifeadi Odenigbo looks to replace his production in the lineup. While Hunter and Odenigbo should be a fine starting tandem, Griffen’s pending departure paired with Stephen Weatherly’s decision to head to Carolina presents another problem.

As of now, the Minnesota Vikings do not have much in terms of depth on the outside. The years of drafting high-upside players and coaching them up have begun to run dry and Mike Zimmer and his staff need to identify the next group of players that could turn into diamonds in the rough.

In this piece, we’ll identify six prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft class that could fill that void and explain how they can help the Vikings regain their depth at edge rusher.
