Fifth Round (Pick No. 155)

Isaiah Hodgins – WR (Oregon State)

Any other year, I believe Isaiah Hodgins would be getting a lot of attention in early rounds. Unfortunately, he enters the NFL among a phenomenal group of wide receivers that steal the shine. But what makes Hodgins so special that I would think so highly of him?

First off, Hodgins is as sure-handed as they come. In his career at Oregon State, Hodgins dropped just 1.1 percent of his career targets, one of the best marks in the country. He has quick feet and strong hands as a potential slot option with enough speed to play outside.

I love the way Hodgins utilizes his head fake and stop-and-go routes to create separation. On day 3 of the draft, teams are looking for players who can fight for a roster spot and maybe make an impact early on. With Hodgins, the Minnesota Vikings are getting a player who will step in and rack up yards from the very start.

Hodgins is coming off a career year, finishing with 86 receptions for 1,171 yards and 13 touchdowns. He averaged 13.2 yards per catch during his collegiate career.
