Mike Boone – RB

The Vikings are also pretty deep at running back for next season. They have Dalvin Cook who is simply one of the best in the game topping their depth chart and behind him is Alexander Mattison, who is coming off a nice rookie year.

Then Minnesota has Mike Boone and Ameer Abdullah who can fill in when Minnesota is in a pinch if things get real bad injury-wise. The Vikings also have fullback C.J. Ham who can be utilized as an emergency back. So they are really five deep at the position.

For Boone to get dealt, a team who needs a back would have to be forced to address other needs, and then late in the draft realize they still need a running back. If the board is picked clean, this team could call Minnesota to gauge their interest in trading Boone.

Boone has done well when given the chance. He’s an explosively violent runner who can also be an asset in the passing game.

Against the Chicago Bears in Week 17 last season, Boone ran for 148 yards and one touchdown while adding another 12 receiving yards to his total. He could be a nice backup option and spot starter for a team that needs help at the position.

Boone would have more experience than a rookie and he could nab the Vikings some additional late-round picks this year or for 2021.
