Antoine Winfield Jr. – S (Minnesota)

Lots of articles have already been written about Antoine Winfield Jr. He’s an undersized, but electric playmaker who has a nose for coming up big in clutch situations.

He’s a former Golden Gopher and the son of former Vikings legend Antoine Winfield. Getting the younger Winfield in purple would make a ton of Minnesota fans extremely happy.

He also plays a position the Vikings need to upgrade heading into this year’s NFL Draft. Whether they keep Anthony Harris for the long term or not, the Vikings need to start thinking about a replacement for Harrison Smith, who is entering the twilight of his career.

The good thing about Winfield is that he can play nickel corner until Minnesota needs him to take over at safety. The Vikings can get production out of him early in his career even if they aren’t using him at the primary position they drafted him for.

Winfield recently told the media he has been in contact with the Vikings and that playing for them would be a dream come true.

Minnesota would either have to take him with one of their two first-round picks or trade up from pick No. 58 in the second round to get him. He would easily be a fan favorite not just for who his father is and the team he played for in college, but for the plays he’d make for the Vikings on the field as a rookie.
