Could Harvin return to Minnesota?
Looking back on his time with the Vikings, Percy Harvin was one of the most exciting players to ever put on a purple and gold uniform. But Harvin’s departure from Minnesota could be what prevents him from returning to the Twin Cities for the 2020 season.
Before Stefon Diggs this year, Harvin was the first receiver to have Vikings general manager Rick Spielman deny that the team was interested in trading away. Then, of course, Spielman sent Harvin packing in 2013 to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a few draft picks, including a first-round selection.
Despite his ugly exit from the team, the receiver commented back in 2018 that his tenure in Minnesota was the, “best years,” of his career and not just because of how he played. Harvin admitted that the Vikings were the most understanding of any team he spent time with when it came to helping him deal with his anxiety, specifically the help he was given by current Minnesota executive director of player development, Les Pico.
Unlike his first stint with the Vikings, money isn’t expected to be an issue this time around and he could probably be signed to a relatively cheap contract. For a team like Minnesota, cheap is good since they don’t currently have much cap space to work with.
So with a need for a kick returner and more receiving depth, will the Vikings give their former first-round pick a call?
