Jacob Eason – QB (Washington)

The Vikings are pretty well set at the quarterback position for 2020. They extended Kirk Cousins earlier this offseason, ensuring that he remains with the team for at least the next two seasons.

Minnesota also has Sean Mannion backing him up. While he doesn’t bring much to the table in terms of ability, he apparently is good at helping Cousins figure out what defenses are doing and he gives him helpful tidbits from time to time. Then behind Mannion is a young passer in Jake Browning, whose future is still up in the air.

The Vikings don’t have to pursue a quarterback in this year’s draft, but if one fell to them at pick No. 58, they might have to think long and hard about pulling the trigger.

One quarterback who is still on the board and could continue to tumble is Washington’s, Jacob Eason. He’s the son of former New England Patriots first-round pick Tony Eason, so football runs through his veins. He’s got great size at 6-foot-6 and 231 pounds to go along with his rocket arm.

The issue with Eason is his overall lack of mobility. He doesn’t have the movement skills to create extra time in the pocket nor is he going to pick up a lot of yards on the ground when he’s forced to scamper.

Eason needs time to develop and he’d get that in Minnesota with Cousins as his mentor. His upside is high and with a good offensive line in front of him combined with a solid running game at his disposal, his future in the NFL could be bright.
