The Good

Immediate Starter

Obviously, joining a roster with a clear hole at receiver bodes well for Justin Jefferson. Regardless, he is ready to make an immediate impact in the NFL as a slot receiver with plenty of potential to play outside as well. Jefferson projects as a slot receiver who will carve up defenses over the middle of the field.

With Adam Thielen in the building to help groom him, Jefferson is in a great spot to learn as he goes. He will be an effective player on offense right out of the gate.

Strong Hands

One thing was clear about Jefferson’s time at LSU; he is as reliable as they come as far as prospects are concerned. He stands strong across the middle and secures grabs in traffic while not being afraid of a little contact.

He hauled in 111 passes for the Tigers in 2019 while also adding 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns. He moved around the offense and made play after play for the National Champions down in the Bayou.

Physical Tools

Jefferson is a strong 6-foot-1 with plenty of speed. He is a mature route-runner who flashes quick feet and a knack for getting open down the field. His combination of size and speed is more than enough to be a menace for NFL defenses.

He may not be the fastest wide receiver in the world, but he plays quicker than his testing shows. Footwork and strong hands are indicative of a successful career, and Jefferson has shown that he has both of these in his game.
