Justin Jefferson – WR (LSU)

Grade: B+

This is a solid pick by the Vikings. Justin Jefferson is a tremendous wide receiver with amazing hands and he has the route running savvy that the team is going to love to have.

He can play both on the boundary and in the slot which could compliment Adam Thielen well. Being able to play mismatches and play both receivers all around the offense will create an advantage for Minnesota that defenses will have a problem game-planning for.

While this is a very good pick by the Vikings, the wide receiver position was a very deep group for this year’s draft and they could have addressed other needs with their top pick.

With guys like Isaiah Wilson, Cesar Ruiz, and A.J. Epenesa, to name a few, still on the board, this may be considered too early for them to take a wide receiver. Nonetheless, Jefferson is a very good player and will contribute as soon as the season kicks off.
