D’Andre Swift – RB (Detroit Lions)

The Lions really had themselves a great 2020 NFL Draft and there will be a few prospects the Minnesota Vikings will eventually have to be very concerned about. Jeff Okudah has the potential to be a lockdown corner who the Lions can put on Thielen and potentially shut him down. Luckily, it usually takes cornerbacks a season or two to get their footing in the NFL, and the Vikings won’t have to worry about him for at least one season.

They also landed a nice pass rusher in Julian Okwara. He can be a beast coming off the edge and could be a problem for the Vikings once he gets some NFL seasoning on him. Like Okudah, his impact could be down the road a bit.

The player the Vikings should be most concerned about in 2020, is the running back the Lions took at the top of the second round, D’Andre Swift. Swift is an extremely shifty back with great vision, and patience. He’s extremely slippery and many times when it looks like he’s going to be tackled for a loss, he’s able to wiggle his way free and then explode through the hole for a big gain. He’s also an excellent receiver out of the backfield, who will be an asset to the Lions in the passing game.

The Lions will pair this exciting rookie with Kerryon Johnson who is a back who runs with great burst and power and rarely goes down on first contact. This will be a duo that will be extremely difficult to defend and will keep the Minnesota Vikings on their toes all game long.
