Vikings 2020: Way too early 53-man roster projection
By Adam Patrick
Offensive Tackles (5)
- Ezra Cleveland (R)
- Brian O’Neill
- Riley Reiff
- Oli Udoh
- Rashod Hill
With the Vikings currently unable to have normal OTAs this year, the team is likely going to keep a number of guys around who already know the offense. Guys like Riley Reiff and Rashod Hill will benefit from this while it will probably take rookie Ezra Cleveland a little longer to adjust to the pros with the abnormal offseason he’s currently dealing with.
If Minnesota actually ends up feeling comfortable enough with Cleveland as their starting left tackle in 2020, then Reiff might be shifted inside to guard or just removed from the roster altogether.
Interior Offensive Line (5)
- Garrett Bradbury
- Dru Samia
- Pat Elflein
- Brett Jones
- Dakota Dozier
Somehow, Pat Elflein will manage to keep a spot on the Vikings’ roster for another year. It mostly has to do with Minnesota’s lack of offensive guard additions this offseason though.
However, keep an eye on rookies Kyle Hinton and Jake Lacina as both could potentially emerge as candidates to replace Elflein as the Vikings’ starting left guard in 2020. At the very least, Hinton and Lacina will likely end up on Minnesota’s practice squad.
