Week 1

Green Bay Packers (Home)

  • Date: Sunday, September 13
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: FOX

For the first time in the history of the franchise, the Vikings will open up the season at home against the rival Packers. Green Bay’s offseason is going to be full of distractions thanks to the drafting of quarterback Jordan Love and Minnesota will take advantage of this lack of focus by coming away with a win.

Prediction: Vikings win (1-0)

Week 2

Indianapolis Colts (Away)

  • Date: Sunday, September 20
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: FOX

The Colts will be hoping that bringing in a 38-year-old Philip Rivers to be their starting quarterback will have a similar outcome to when the Vikings experienced success in 2009 with a 39-year-old Brett Favre starting under center. Spoiler alert, it won’t turn out as well and Minnesota will get a win during their first road game of the year.

Prediction: Vikings win (2-0)

Week 3

Tennessee Titans (Home)

  • Date: Sunday, September 27
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: CBS

In a matchup of two teams who basically utilize running the ball and playing top-notch defense to win games, this is probably going to be a hard-nosed battle that likely comes down to the final possession. In the end, Mike Zimmer’s Vikings will get the best of Mike Vrabel’s Titans and both coaches will be caught on camera attempting to hide a giant wad of chewing tobacco in their mouth.

Prediction: Vikings win (3-0)

Week 4

Houston Texans (Away)

  • Date: Sunday, October 4
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: FOX

After having to open their season against the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and Pittsburgh Steelers, there’s a decent chance that the Texans could be 0-3 by the time they get to this matchup with Minnesota. Houston’s misery isn’t going to end in this game though as the Vikings will walk away with their fourth-straight victory.

Prediction: Vikings win (4-0)
