Week 5

Seattle Seahawks (Away)

  • Date: Sunday, October 11
  • Time: 7:20 p.m. CT
  • TV: NBC

Oh look, it’s a huge surprise that the Vikings’ matchup on the road against the Seahawks is being played in primetime. Minnesota hasn’t been able to come away with a win in Seattle since 2006 and this losing streak isn’t going to come to an end this year.

Prediction: Vikings lose (4-1)

Week 6

Atlanta Falcons (Home)

  • Date: Sunday, October 18
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: FOX

Since Mike Zimmer became the team’s head coach in 2014, the Vikings have faced the Falcons four times. Zimmer and Minnesota have been able to get victories in each of these matchups and they will add another to their total this year.

Prediction: Vikings win (5-1)

Week 7

  • Bye week

Week 8

Green Bay Packers (Away)

  • Date: Sunday, November 1
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: FOX

For some reason, the Vikings haven’t been successful in games directly after their bye week with Zimmer as their head coach. Minnesota is just 2-4 in these matchups since 2014 and their post-bye week struggles will continue in this game against the Packers.

Prediction: Vikings lose (5-2)

Week 9

Detroit Lions (Home)

  • Date: Sunday, November 8
  • Time: 12 p.m. CT
  • TV: CBS

Matt Patricia hasn’t figured how to defeat the Vikings yet in his two years as the Lions head coach and he’s not about to come up with a successful formula this season either. Minnesota gets the win over a Detroit team that should be ready for a new head coach by the end of the year, if not earlier.

Prediction: Vikings win (6-2)
