The Minnesota Vikings are counting on their rookie receiver to have a big role in 2020, but what is it that will ensure he lives up to their expectations?

One of the biggest questions for the Minnesota Vikings leading into the 2020 NFL Draft was how they were going to replace Stefon Diggs.

After trading the disgruntled wide receiver to the Buffalo Bills, it turned the Vikings wide receiver group from one of the NFL’s best to one of the leagues worst, leaving a 1,130-yard hole in the middle of their offense.

Like most trades in the NFL, timing is everything. The Vikings had a plan to replace Diggs and with one of the most hyped wide receiver draft classes in recent memory, general manager Rick Spielman bit the bullet and decided to dive headfirst for a replacement.

While there was a discussion about waiting until a later round to draft a wide receiver, Minnesota was aggressive snatching LSU’s Justin Jefferson with the 22nd overall pick in the draft. Since the selection, many have gushed about Jefferson’s strengths and how he’ll be a seamless fit into their offense. But the better question is how long will it take?

The Vikings need their rookies to come of age quickly and Jefferson is one of several new additions that could have a monster impact in year one. So let’s take a look at what will help him get on the field and make an impact early for Minnesota.
