Minnesota Vikings games that should be in prime time

Considering many teams got significantly more love than the Minnesota Vikings when it comes to nationally televised games, the question of which games should have been put into prime time has to be asked.

Here are a few that could have easily been on a national stage.

Week 1 vs. Packers – MNF

There is no way to convince fans the Pittsburgh Steelers versus the New York Giants would be a better draw for the early game in Week 1 on the Monday Night Football doubleheader than seeing the Vikings and Green Bay Packers doing battle at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Giants are still a mess, and if the Steelers can’t get Big Ben back into the lineup, they could be an absolutely brutal team to watch in 2020.

Week 13 vs. Jaguars – SNF

The Buffalo Bills have back-to-back prime-time games, but the Jacksonville Jaguars don’t have a single one. Considering the NFL could be making a mint-marketing Gardner Minshew to a national audience and the Vikings are a playoff team that deserved more attention, this game would make sense to add to the 2020 schedule on Sunday Night Football.

Week 14 at Buccaneers – TNF

The game between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams has to be one of the biggest gambles on the Thursday Night Football schedule. Instead, they could replace it with the Vikings taking on now-Buccaneers’ Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski and draw in a bigger audience.

This was probably one of the biggest mistakes on the NFL schedule.
