2. Bringing back the Vikings kicking unit

Special teams are often the most overlooked aspect of the NFL. Having a great unit can help a team win the field position battle or ensure that points go on the board when an offense struggles to pick up a first down in kicking range.

Fans of the Minnesota Vikings know a thing or fifty about kicking. The number of times a kicker has lined up in an important situation only to see the kick fly wide of the uprights is the fodder of nightmares for any follower of the purple and gold.

Thankfully, that shouldn’t be an issue in 2020 as the team not only brought back kicker Dan Bailey on the three-year deal but did the same for holder/punter Britton Colquitt. Plus, long snapper Austin Cutting’s rookie contract keeps him with the team through the 2022 season as well.

A voice will always be in the back of the head of Vikings fans every time a kicker takes the field, but having these three together after a successful 2019 campaign should be enough to quiet that voice to a whisper, at least for now.
