5 reasons why Mike Zimmer could be fired at the end of the 2020 season
By Nik Edlund
What are some reasons why 2020 could be Mike Zimmer’s last year with the Minnesota Vikings?
The Minnesota Vikings hired Mike Zimmer back in 2014 to lead them to the promised land. The team has been 57-38-1 in his tenure with a 2-3 postseason record. He hasn’t quite been able to get them where they want to be, but he has made the team a perennial contender in the NFC.
Zimmer is currently in the final year of his contract with Minnesota and it’s unclear at this point what the future holds for him. Depending on how and the 2020 season shakes out for the Vikings, he could get an extension or could be let go in favor of a new head coach.
If Minnesota decides to move on from Zimmer after 2020, some things would have to transpire during the upcoming season to make them feel that it is the right decision.
