Vikings win the Super Bowl

If the Vikings actually accomplish the impossible and win a Super Bowl during the upcoming season, Mike Zimmer will definitely continue to be the team’s head coach. Bringing a championship to Minnesota would likely result in Zimmer being rewarded with a fat contract that makes him one of the highest-paid coaches in the NFL.

The question is if the Vikings can actually accomplish this feat and keep Zimmer in town. They have plenty of talent on both sides of the ball. However, they’ll have to overcome a lack of experience in their secondary, as it is a very young group that isn’t very battle-tested.

Minnesota will also have to minimize injuries as they are not very deep at a number of positions including safety, guard, and defensive end.

If the young players emerge, the Vikings avoid the injury bug, and they can overcome years of cursed football to actually win the Super Bowl, Zimmer’s tenure with the team will certainly go on long beyond the 2020 season.
