Currently, the Vikings defense is home to two of the top safeties in the entire NFL in Anthony Harris and Harrison Smith. But Harris is only under contract for a year and Smith is nearing the backend of his career, so things could be much different for Minnesota’s group of safeties quite quickly.

Acquiring current New York Jets safety Jamal Adams would not only give the Vikings someone to replace Harris in 2021, but he could also be the guy to replace Smith down the road.

Adams has been the subject of trade rumors since the middle of last season and with negotiations for a new deal not going the way he would like, those rumors about the Jets safety likely aren’t going to disappear anytime soon.

As good as Harris was for Minnesota in 2019, partnering Smith with Adams could give the team one of the best safety duos to ever suit up for the franchise.

Adams has only been in the NFL for three years, but he’s already been voted to the Pro Bowl twice and he earned a First-Team All-Pro selection last season. It’s crazy to think that he probably hasn’t even reached his full potential yet.
