Gary Kubiak

Gary Kubiak will be the Vikings offensive coordinator this season. It was no surprise he was named to that position when Kevin Stefanski took the Cleveland Browns head coaching job. Kubiak’s prints were all over the Vikings offense in 2019, and this year it will be his system completely taking over.

Kubiak has had success as a head coach in the NFL. He has a career record of 82-75 and led Denver to a Super Bowl victory in 2015. He also led the Houston Texans to the divisional round twice in his tenure with the team.

Kubiak is all about running the football and utilizing a zone-blocking scheme. He also loves using multiple formations and rolling out his quarterback. The Vikings showed these looks last season and will certainly do so again in 2020.

If things go south for the Vikings this season Kubiak is the obvious choice to take over as interim head coach. If the team finds success and the Vikings offense is a huge part of that, Kubiak could get some offers to once again be a head coach. With his health history, it’s unclear if he would want to take on the stress of being a head coach again, but it’s entirely possible he could choose to do so.
