Matt Ryan (2008-Present)

Win/Loss vs. entire NFL: 109-80 (.576)

Win/Loss vs. Vikings: 2-4 (.333)

The Numbers:

  • 6 games
  • 66.3 completion percentage
  • 233.5 passing yards per game
  • 10 touchdowns
  • 6 interceptions
  • 3 fumbles
  • 89.9 passer rating

From Matt Ryan‘s in-game statistics, it does not really appear that he’s struggled. Ryan has though, and quite a bit.

The numbers of the Atlanta Falcons quarterback against the Vikings are a less-impressive departure from his normative performance in matchups with other NFL teams. Mainly, his passer rating has dipped against Minnesota with interceptions being the primary culprit.

And recency has been unkind to Ryan. He led the Falcons to a win over the Vikings in his rookie campaign and then helped them defeat Minnesota during the 2011 season. Since then, Ryan and the Falcons have gone winless against the Vikings.

Ryan and Atlanta have dropped four consecutive games to the purple and gold–2014, 2015, 2017, and 2019. These four contests have unexpectedly been low-scoring affairs, and the Falcons have been on the losing end.

Mike Zimmer has had no problems whatsoever whenever Ryan and Atlanta have shown up on Minnesota’s schedule.
