Adam Thielen – WR

Randy Moss, Cris Carter, and Ahmad Rashad are currently the three former Vikings wide receivers currently in the team’s Ring of Honor. Is it possible that Adam Thielen one day becomes the fourth?

Thielen has scrapped and fought his way into being one of the better wide receivers in the entire NFL. He earned a shot to try out for Minnesota in 2013 and he impressed enough to be asked to camp, which then resulted in him getting a spot on the team’s practice squad.

From there, Thielen made his mark on special teams. Eventually, he broke through to the offensive side of the ball and ended up developing into one of the best route-runners in the NFL.

While Thielen’s story is definitely Ring of Honor-worthy, his numbers are as well. In just six seasons with the Vikings, he has 323 receptions, 4,315 receiving yards, and 25 touchdowns. He currently ranks ninth all-time in yardage, 11th in touchdowns, and 12th in receptions in Minnesota team history.

Thielen is currently 29-years-old and under contract with the Vikings for the next five seasons. If he even plays just three of those seasons, his career receiving numbers should easily rank in the top five of all-time for Minnesota. That should be enough to get him into this legendary group, especially if his final numbers are better than both Jake Reed and Anthony Carter.
