Eric Kendricks – LB

There are only two linebackers in the Vikings Ring of Honor and those are Matt Blair and Scott Studwell. Minnesota has had some very good linebackers since those two played and one who is currently on the team, who will also be considered as one of the best of all-time to wear purple, is Eric Kendricks.

Kendricks’ career numbers are already enough to get him consideration into the Vikings Ring of Honor. He has 532 combined tackles, 35 pass breakups, 34 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, four forced fumbles, and four interceptions.

Kendricks is under contract for the next four seasons and if he continues to average right around 100 tackles a year, he could have well over 1,000 by the time he retires.

Kendricks will never catch Scott Studwell for the Vikings all-time lead in tackles, but that shouldn’t matter. He’s the perfect middle linebacker for today’s NFL and he should finish his career in the top five of many defensive categories.  This should be enough to get him into Minnesota’s Ring of Honor someday down the road.
