Jayron Kearse (Detroit Lions)

Jayron Kearse is a player who a number Vikings fans would’ve loved to see stick around. He only ever saw spot duty with Minnesota, but he came up with big plays time and time again.

Kearse was always a special teams standout, hustling down the field and being the first one to take down the return man.

With the Vikings also losing Andrew Sendejo in free agency, keeping Kearse around to be the primary backup to both Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris would’ve been a nice luxury.

Instead, he and Minnesota clashed as he wasn’t happy with his role and the team wasn’t happy about his arrest during the bye week.

Kearse will get a fresh start with the Detroit Lions and many Vikings fans will be watching closely to see how he does. He has a shot to beat out Tracy Walker for a starting job this year and he could be a guy who flourishes in a starting role.

Kearse will be motivated to have a great season and earn himself a fat contract after his one-year deal is up in Detroit. He will get to face his former team twice in 2020 and he will try to prove them wrong for not giving him more playing time during the last few years.
