5 toughest quarterback matchups for the Vikings in 2020
By Dustin Baker
4. Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys)
- Career Win-Loss vs. MIN: 1-1 (.500)
- Career Passer Rating vs. MIN: 103.4
One might die on a hill murmuring, “Drew Brees is better than Dak Prescott.” That individual is probably correct, especially when examining resumés.
Yet, Drew Brees is 41 years-old; Dak Prescott will be 27 when the regular season begins. Additionally, Brees has been victimized by the Vikings in the last three seasons–while Prescott is entering the prime of his career. As of now, Prescott is the more daunting quarterback to oppose on gameday.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys nipped the Vikings in 2016 giving the team a rare home defeat. In many ways, the Week 13 loss to Dallas of that season dashed any hopes Minnesota had in reaching the postseason. It was especially deflating as the Vikings started the season with five straight wins.
The Vikings extracted a bit of vengeance last season in Dallas with a 28-24 win over the Cowboys in Week 10. Prescott was good–but not good enough in that meeting.
The two teams meet again in a successive-season rematch on Nov. 22 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
