5 toughest quarterback matchups for the Vikings in 2020
By Dustin Baker
1. Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks)
- Career Win-Loss vs. MIN: 6-0 (1.00)
- Career Passer Rating vs. MIN: 104.6
If Brees, Rodgers, and Brady are the demons of old as Minnesota Vikings opponents, Russell Wilson is the new variety and he is Beelzebub.
Wilson debuted on the NFL scene in 2012. He has beaten the Vikings six times since–and never lost. In fairness, the Seattle Seahawks as a whole (Legion of Boom) have had a lot to do with this, but Wilson is the field general.
Notably, Russell Wilson game-managed is way to a frigid win over Minnesota in a 2015 Wild-card playoff game. Since that bizarre contest, he just keeps finding ways to defeat the Vikings.
In six games, Wilson has dimed 11 touchdown passes to just three interceptions. He’s also been sacked only nine times, which is unusually low considering Mike Zimmer-led defenses tend to rack up sacks.
The Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings have met in Seattle in each of the past two seasons. This year is no different. The teams again square off in the Emerald City in Week 5.
