Special teams (3)
- Dan Bailey
- Britton Colquitt
- Austin Cutting
Finally, a positional grouping that goes unchanged from the 2019 lineup. Having continuity at the kicker, punter, and long snapper positions is something Minnesota Vikings fans haven’t had the luxury of in recent team history.
Dan Bailey is an efficient kicker who should once again give the team a high conversion percentage on field goals and extra points. Last season, he connected on 93.1% of his field goal tries and 90.9% of his extra point kicks.
Meanwhile, it’s great the Vikings were able to solve their issues at holder by also adding a solid punter. It was crazy to watch Minnesota scramble to fill those spots over the last few seasons by drafting and trading for players that didn’t work out before finally finding an answer in Britton Colquitt.
Finally, Austin Cutting rounds out the special teams unit. As a long snapper, he has had very few miscommunications on the snap to the holder and should continue to be a source of continuity rather than frustration going forward.
How do you think the final 53-man roster will shake out for the Minnesota Vikings? Is there a player you believe will make the cut who isn’t included here? Or possibly a player who doesn’t deserve to be on this projection? Let us know in the comments!
