Jaylen Twyman – Pitt (DT)

Jaylen Twyman is an interesting name for Vikings fans to remember. He’s been selected by Minnesota in the first round of multiple 2021 mock drafts.

Twyman is a high second-round prospect who currently ranks 34th on my big board and 38th overall on DynastyDraftRoom.com’s big board. So there is a good shot that he could end up getting drafted towards the end of the first round in 2021, which is likely where the Vikings will be picking.

Minnesota needs to re-build their interior defensive line after losing Linval Joseph this year in addition to Michael Pierce opting out of the 2020 season due to concerns related to COVID-19. Bringing in Twyman would solve a lot of the Vikings’ current defensive tackle issues and he would fill a gaping hole.

Twyman has a ton of athleticism and he is a very smart player. He’s great at recognizing plays and reacting to them. He’s strong in his run fits and he has an excellent inside move.

If he ends up with Minnesota in 2021, he would be a strong piece in the team’s plan to shut to the opponent’s run game.
