Dalvin Cook – RB

There appears little doubt that the Vikings are going to pay Dalvin Cook before their Week 1 matchup against the Green Bay Packers this season. Despite the former second-round pick holding out briefly this offseason, the signs are still positive.

Cook is coming off a year where he became the focal point of Minnesota’s offense. This did see his usual time off the field with niggling injuries. But it is hard to deny that everything good came through the Florida State product.

Another step in the right direction in 2020 would put him in the All-Pro discussion. Cook was a valuable dual-threat weapon that was utilized early and often by former Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski last season. And this is a trend that is set to continue with Gary Kubiak calling plays this year.

His output last season was a huge cause for encouragement. Cook carried the ball 250 times for 1,135 yards and 13 touchdowns. And his ability in the passing game resulted in 53 receptions for 519 yards from 63 targets.

Providing the Pro Bowler stays healthy, then it should give Minnesota a realistic shot of wrestling back the NFC North crown in 2020. This is still a run-first team despite the quality receiving options at quarterback Kirk Cousins’ disposal and Cook is sure to be at the forefront of their offensive production once again.
