Danielle Hunter is now firmly established as one of the NFL’s premier pass-rushers. The defensive end has been nothing short of a revelation during his time with the Vikings. And he is only going to go from strength-to-strength entering his prime years.

Minnesota struck gold with Hunter. Even though he is set to be without his partner in crime Everson Griffen on the opposite side in 2020, there is nothing to suggest he cannot continue to be a relentless force on the edge.

Hunter will be a strong contender for First-Team All-Pro recognition if he reaches his ceiling in 2020. This is something that has evaded the player during a standout career to date and he remains criminally underrated compared to others who aren’t producing half as much.

His career stats now stand at 54.5 sacks, 80 quarterback hits, 67 tackles for loss, and six forced fumbles over a five-year period. Hunter is a two-time Pro Bowler and his outstanding contribution in 2019 resulted in an 89.4 grade from Pro Football Focus.

Minnesota’s defense will be relying on Hunter to produce the goods more than ever next season. This extra responsibility is something that the player should relish. He has already proven to be more than capable of making plays despite getting extra attention from opposing offenses.

The Vikings are extremely fortunate to have Hunter in their ranks and 2020 might finally be the year he gets the recognition he deserves.
